Your donations are not just financial transactions—they are lifelines that bring hope to families, empower women, and ensure children have a future filled with opportunities.
How It All Began
Guided by the ideologies of Sant Shiromani Acharya Vidya Sagar Ji, a group of 30 highly educated youth set out to address the challenges of rural poverty, unemployment, and migration. Field surveys revealed the dire conditions of subsistence farmers, lack of livelihood opportunities, and the need for employable skills. Blessed by Guruji in 2016, we started training centers to impart handloom skills and launched Shramdaan—meaning “donation of one’s hard work.”
Shramdaan is a transformative initiative launched in 2016 to empower rural Bharat through handloom skills, fostering self-reliance, ecological balance, and fair wages. The Apnapan program extends this vision to prisons, rehabilitating inmates by teaching handloom crafts and offering emotional and financial support, benefiting over 250 prisoners and their families, while strengthening communities and breaking cycles of poverty and crime.
At Shramdaan, our mission is simple yet profound:
Impart skills and provide resources for a sustainable livelihood.
Keep alive the rich legacy of handloom craftsmanship.
Create eco-friendly products that are kind to the planet.
Your donations are not just financial transactions—they are lifelines that bring hope to families, empower women, and ensure children have a future filled with opportunities.
Our innovative hub-and-spoke model connects nodal centers with artisans across villages. We provide raw materials, design details, and training while ensuring artisans have a ready market for their creations. Post-training, artisans work independently from their homes or at Shramdaan facilities, earning fair wages based on quality.
Through our Ghar Ghar Hathkargha program, families set up handlooms at home, enabling flexible work schedules, family income enhancement, and greater dignity for women. Over 300 families now thrive with regular incomes, becoming role models for others in their villages.
We celebrate and sustain a range of traditional Bhartiya crafts, including
Exquisite resist-dye patterns.
Intricate designs woven directly into the fabric.
Luxurious metal embroidery for royal elegance.
A tribute to historical tales and ancient artistry.
Your donations are not just financial transactions—they are lifelines that bring hope to families, empower women, and ensure children have a future filled with opportunities.
